Fatherhood has been the most transformative and beautiful experience for Amapiano star Mick Man. This new chapter, marked by the arrival of his first child, Uminathi, has reshaped him in profound ways and inspired his latest music project.

Johannesburg, South Africa (18 August 2025) – There are few things that compare to having a child and how that experience will, without a doubt, reshape your life and perspective in profound ways, while giving it a whole new beautiful meaning.

For Ekhurhuleni Amapiano, deejay, producer and hitmaker, Mick Man, the title of dad is one of his greatest honours and has inspired him to cook up something truly special in the studio.

Known for his hit tracks like African Dance and Stay With Me, Mick Man has now added another musical masterpiece to his name: Uminathi.

More than just an album, this music project is a dedication and tribute to the deejay’s first child, Uminathi, who has made a positive shift in his creative journey as a new father.

“This album is my way of honouring her and thanking God for the blessing she is,” says Mick Man.

“Becoming a father has changed my life in the most powerful way and this chapter has shown a different side of me; more grounded, more emotional, more intentional and music lovers will hear that in the music. Every song carries moments of joy, deep reflection, and pure love.”

The album is a collaborative musical project, featuring some of the biggest names in the Amapiano scene, including Kelvin Momo, De Mthuda, Sol Phenduka, and Sfarzo Rtee, among others. Their collective energy, skills and talent have contributed to bringing the Uminathi album vision to life.

With every carefully crafted track, listeners are invited into Mick Man’s world as a new dad, experiencing moments of pure joy and an overwhelming sense of love.

Uminathi is now available on all major streaming platforms.
