Lohan Swart and Iana Strydom make history as the inaugural winners of South Africa’s newest fitness challenge.

Bloemfontein, South Africa (13 August 2026) – South Africa has two new fitness champions after Lohan Swart and Iana Strydom claimed the inaugural men’s and women’s titles at Red Bull Agri-Grit in Bloemfontein.

Held at Middelwater Plaas outside the city, the event turned traditional farm work into a high-energy fitness challenge, testing competitors on strength.

The course was designed by obstacle-course racing champion Thomas van Tonder, with competitors tackling a series of farm-inspired stations. But brute strength alone wasn’t enough. Efficiency and smart decision-making were just as important.

After battling through qualifying heats and knockout rounds, Swart delivered a dominant performance to take the men’s title, while Strydom kept her cool under pressure to become the first women’s champion.

For Strydom, the victory was a proud reward for her competitive spirit and willingness to take on a challenge.

“I love a good challenge, and Red Bull definitely delivered.”

She added that the experience reminded her to keep pushing towards her goals and make the most of every opportunity.

Swart, meanwhile, said the demanding competition was the payoff for months of training, early mornings and plenty of tough sessions.

“All the early mornings, tough sessions and moments where I had to push through fatigue were worth it.”

The inaugural event also brought together competitors, families and spectators for a full day of action, with DJs, live entertainment and music adding to the atmosphere.

And just like that, Swart and Strydom have their names in the history books as the first-ever Red Bull Agri-Grit champions.
