Mic’d-Up Fans Give Us a Taste of South Africa’s All Blacks Banter

South African supporters had plenty to say as the All Blacks got a taste of local rugby ahead of the Springboks showdown.

Cape Town, South Africa (13 August 2026) – The All Blacks are in South Africa ahead of the much-anticipated Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series against the Springboks, but before the big Tests, New Zealand have been getting a taste of South African rugby, taking on the Sharks and Stormers.

And while the players were doing the hard work on the field, some fans in the stands were providing plenty of entertainment of their own.

A few supporters were mic’d up during the Stormers clash, giving us a little glimpse into the conversations happening between the cheers, nerves and very confident rugby opinions.

One supporter was clearly feeling confident enough to put himself forward for national selection.

“If Rassie called me up tonight, it would have been dangerous.”

Honestly, Rassie, the man has made his case.

Then there were the fans simply enjoying having some of New Zealand’s biggest rugby names right in front of them.

The banter is all part of what makes the Springboks-All Blacks rivalry so special. There is plenty of respect between the teams.

With the real rivalry still to come, South African rugby fans are clearly already in the mood.

And judging by these mic’d-up moments, the stands might be just as entertaining as the pitch.
