Samantha Cowen is a former Radio DJ with a massive passion for open water swimming, so her friends decided to help her raise money for her big dream swim.
Samantha Cowen is a former Radio DJ from 702 with a passion for open water swimming. She has used this passion to work on her weight and create a beautifully balanced life. During the last decade she has been an inspiration sharing her personal story of struggle by becoming an author.
It was in that decade she discovered a love for open water swimming and in 2014 she completed a 7.5km swim to Robben Island.
The water that day was the lowest recorded temperature for any new swimmer to attempt the swim!
Samantha has gone from strength to strength and her latest dream/goal is to swim the Straits of Gibraltar. While at an event with her friends she discussed this dream and her friends (without her knowing) insisted on making the dream a reality. They started raising awareness and funds.
Dionne Domyan-Mudie and Helen Desbois have been a driving force behind the fundraising. They set up a page on Indiegogo for people to help Samantha get to Gibraltar.
“It is Women’s Month and Dionne Domyan-Mudie of The Publicity Workshop and singer, actress and radio presenter, Helen Desbois decided to put their heads together and get the word out to see how many people would come aboard and help us get Sam to Gibraltar.”
To help Samantha follow her dream, you can check out the page here.
