Celebrities wore black on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes. They did this to stand up to sexual harassment in the industry. SA’s Demi-Leigh joined in too.
Global (08 January 2018) – Hollywood celebrities stood together for a Red Carpet Black-out at the Golden Globes last night. The blackout was to make a stand against sexual harassment in the industry as well as across every workplace setting.
Celebs like Reese Witherspoon and America Ferrera have been campaigning to help get funding for the Times Up Legal Defence Fund that will help provide subsidised legal support to women and men who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, or abuse in the workplace and while in pursuit of their careers.

The GoFundMe campaign aimed to raise $16 million and has raised $15,972,434 in just 18 days.
South Africa’s very own Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the current Miss Universe, also joined in support and wore black to the Red Carpet of the Golden Globes.
“I decided that I really want to support the Time’s Up campaign. I think it’s so amazing and I take my hat off to every woman who has had the courage to come forward and tell their story. It’s not just a campaign, they created a legal fund to help fund women who have been victims and who have been affected. I stand with solidarity with women around the world,”
