Abriella Bredell is officially the youngest person to ever swim the Robben Island Channel and she did it all for charity!
Abriella Bredell has a passion for making a difference and to do this, she is planned to swim for charity. She wants to help children and is donating any money she raises to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
She officially embarked on her swim from Robben Island to Big Bay Beach this morning and managed to raise over R100,000.00 in the process.
Brenton Williams joined Abriella on the swim as a support but she managed to keep going and complete the swim on Friday the 12th of January 2018. At just 10-years-old, Abriella has set a new record and become the youngest person to ever swim the channel.
Hard work and dedication have been the driving force behind her accomplishment as well as doing it for a good cause.
“I love swimming because I am a very competitive person and enjoy swimming races against other people and improving my times. I like learning new things, keeping fit and taking care of my body. Swimming does all of the above for me.”
“I train 6 times a week and love the open water swimming at Marina Martinique in Jeffreys Bay.”
You can still donate to the cause and help Abriella raise all the money for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Donate here at BackaBuddy.
well done on your achievement Abriella, you have inspired many South Africans and we are exceptionally proud!
