A video featuring the sounds of Mzanzi was played at the 34th World Congress of Audiology and it highlighted some incredible South African sounds.
The 34th World Congress of Audiology was held in Cape Town this year. The conference is for medical professionals and anyone else working in the field of ears and hearing.
As part of being the host country this year, a video was created to share the sounds of Mzanzi. The video is beautiful and proudly South African. It is filled with so many elements of our beautiful country that it brings on chills or goosebumps. Its starts off with a stunning poem which is spoken through the entire video.
“Listen as the spirit of our country speaks,
begging us not to forget who we are.
Whispering to us, speaking to our hearts.
Rise, rise above and look at the skies,
And hold on to a brighter tomorrow”
Behind the spoken words are the sounds of our country, the sound of meat on the braai, of a zebra’s nicker, of the music played throughout our streets and the cheers as our sportsmen defeat the opposition.
The sounds of Mzanzi are like no other in the world. This video showcases the sounds that every South African away from home, longs to hear.
