Painting

The Aitsa! Aftercare Centre in Dwarsrivier Valley, Kylemore got a beautiful makeover thanks to Plascon; after a day of painting, the children’s moods were boosted drastically!

Dwarsrivier Valley, South Africa (07 February 2020) – Plascon is boosting education is through the revitalisation of classroom environments in disadvantaged schools through paint donations. By sponsoring paint to the Aitsa! Aftercare Centre, and the Pebbles Hemel-en-Aarde Project, they facilitate the creation of stimulating and colourful spaces in which children can thrive.

The stark white environments, which often felt clinical, were warmed by bright colours. The children were inspired by the painting and even felt calmer with the colourful classes. They have embraced the creativity of the classrooms and are often found painting art.

Education lies at the core of Plascon’s Corporate Social Responsibility  (CSR) initiatives, and they aim to inspire people to reach their fullest potential. Apart from painting classrooms, Plascon also works in-house to boost their own employees’ lives.

One way they accomplish this is by using their internal bursary scheme. Through this scheme, bursaries are offered to deserving employees, which allows them to study further and advance in their careers. Not only that, but they also provide for their employees’ families by assisting with their schooling costs up to the tertiary level.

They don’t only paint the rainbow nation, one classroom at a time; they are changing the lives of so many South Africans through their various projects!

As part of the #SAINC nation-building initiative, Plascon is joining a network of purpose-driven brands to share stories of positive progress in South Africa. These stories are being featured across social media in small snippets, just like the one below, but you will also be able to watch the full-length features live on television.
