Relate Trust has helped raise R622,404.00 for the Reach for a Dream Foundation and their next goal is to raise R100,000 in aid of reaching more dreamers.
South Africa (12 October 2020) – 100% not-for-profit organisation Relate, along with the Reach For A Dream Foundation, have joined hands in a bid to raise R100 000 by selling bracelets over the course of a month for children with life-threatening illnesses. Launched on 25 September, World Dream Day, they are calling on ordinary South Africans to show their support by purchasing a bracelet and helping to inspire joy and hope. September was also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
With 2020 being incredibly challenging on all fronts, the opportunity to contribute to such an important cause serves as a timely reminder to everyone to appreciate their good health. Having a child or someone you love battle a life-threatening illness is something that no one can ever fully prepare for, and bringing hope to their lives is the aim of Reach For A Dream, who make dreams come true for children battling a life-threatening illness.
This R100 000 campaign seeks to unite people from all walks of life in a common cause, remembering that every contribution counts towards raising the grand total – no matter how big or small. Through the purchase of a beautiful handmade bracelet, Relate is working to raise much-needed funds for dream fulfilment. The Relate Trust, which makes these bracelets, protects lives and creates livelihoods through job creation for vulnerable communities.
“Through every struggle we have had as a country, we always unite for a common goal. I would like this to be viewed as another important goal that we can reach together. Reach For A Dream’s biggest fundraiser of the year, their annual gala dinner, won’t be taking place this year due to COVID-19. By buying one or more bracelets, you are contributing towards lives changed for the better”, says Lauren Gillis, Founder of Relate.
