From bar staff, waiters and cooks to receptionists and bellhops, the Cape Wine Academy is offering a free wine course to hospitality employees looking to upskill during the lockdown.
South Africa (05 July 2021) – The latest wave of alcohol bans, restaurant closures, and lockdown restrictions have meant many hospitality workers have found themselves without work again. The worst part is many may not have work to go back to when this is over.
The Cape Wine Academy is all too aware of the industry struggles and decided to make their entry-level course available to these workers for free. The course will be enough to help anyone boost their wine knowledge and gives someone something to do during the lockdown.
“LIQUOR BAN #4 We feel your pain! As a show of support in these troubled times, we invite all Restaurant, Hotel, Wine Farm and related service industry staff to sign up for our self-study online South African Wine Course for FREE during the adjusted alert level 4 restrictions.
Turn this downtime into an opportunity to come back with recognised first level wine credentials that could take you all the way to Cape Wine Master level. Simply email info@capewineacademy.co.za with your details and the restaurant, hotel, lodge, event venue, wine farm where you work (or worked) and we will send you access to the course. No persons under 18, please. We wish you much strength and support.”
It may not help provide income right now, but it is a glimmer of hope during these trying times! If you know someone who will benefit from this kind of education, have them reach out to the Cape Wine Academy team.
Every little bit of help helps!
