The President of South Africa has been trending on social media while flying Economy on a low cost airline.
The President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, has made social media headlines after his Economy flight from Johannesburg to Durban on Good Friday morning.
The Twitter trend also gave FlySafair a great PR boost.
FlySafair (pronounced: “fly-saf-air”) began operations in October 2014, but the company behind the airline, Safair, has been in operation for over 50 years.
The airline’s mission (on their website) it to be South Africa’s favourite airline and now that the President is one of their clients, we’re sure they will be. They even took to Twitter to thank him for choosing them.
Pictures of President Ramaphosa on the FlySafair flight, trended on social media for most of the morning.
And as Gus Silber said: Just a short hop, but nonetheless, a simple gesture that speaks volumes in these turbulent times.
