10 seconds to wait for your morning coffee plus homemade cookies for breakfast? Meet Lehubedu “Lemo” Mohlabe, who’s business brings joy to others, one coffee at a time.

Centurion, South Africa (27 June 2023) – Our Good Things Guy inbox has been filling up with recommendations to feature the Coffee to Car guy. So we reached out and got his inspiring story for you! Meet Lehubedu “Lemo” Mohlabe, who is brightening Centurion days, one coffee at a time.

Lemo has been unemployed since 2019. He managed to find temporary work at a local firm but the commute was a bit far. He managed to do it each but one morning, he was on his way to the firm when he realised he didn’t have his coffee. At the very robots where he runs his business today, he rerouted to get his morning coffee before work and found that the journey took far too much time.

He had a brainwave and decided as he was speeding to get to work, that CoffeetoCar was a really good business idea.

“I got bit by the business bug, and I never looked back. I saw the potential CoffeeToCar has to reduce unemployment and actually get some youth out of that pool. Making a success out of CoffeeToCar pushes me. And the fact that I started something myself and I can be proud of.”

Lemo started his business on the 8th of August 2022 and has seen it thrive. He shared some fun facts about starting, he can now walk backwards without fear of falling and he can make a coffee in 10 seconds, beating that dreaded robot change.

We asked Lemo what advice he has for anyone wanting to start a business of their own.

“Just go out there and start something!! No idea is stupid.”

Finally, we wanted to know what’s next? How does Lemo hope his future will grow and change?

“To see CoffeeToCar become a success story I believe it is. And actually creating employment for the unemployed. I know firsthand how it feels”

He even bakes his own cookies from scratch, so you know they are made with love – that may also be the secret ingredient to what makes them taste so good! As a self-taught baker, this is one of his biggest points of pride. He also sells dikuku (meaning scones).

If you find yourself in need of a coffee and a cookie and happen to be heading to Centurion, Lemo is your guy! You can find him daily from 6 am at Marais Avenue on the R55 just across mall@55 in Centurion.

Lemo can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
