Teamwork makes the dream work… Sometimes it helps a dog return home, too! Members of the Animal Welfare Society Stellenbosch worked side by side with the local community to create a safer environment for a family’s beloved dog.
Stellenbosch, South Africa (18 September 2025) – Every dog deserves a safe, loving home and the joy of belonging, and sometimes it takes a caring community to make that happen.
When the Animal Welfare Society Stellenbosch (AWSS) learned that a family was struggling to provide a secure space for their beloved dog Snowy, the team didn’t hesitate to step in with helping hands and open hearts.
Snowy was kept at AWSS’ shelter for some time while all involved worked on a plan and solution to ensure she’d return to a safer environment. With a little teamwork and a lot of love, the moment finally came for Snowy to go home and what a happy reunion it was!
A video shared by AWSS on Instagram shows the precious moment that the volunteers delivered and personally installed a gate at the family’s premises. Working side by side with the community, they were able to create a secure environment for precious Snowy.
The team also brought in a spacious kennel dog house for Snowy to call her own, which the local kids were more than happy to help carry into the yard.
And then the long-awaited moment came.
Once Snowy was taken out of the vehicle that brought her home, she eagerly jumped onto one of her favourite humans! Snowy was home, and better yet, as the gate locked, she felt safer now than before.
The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all! A huge shout-out goes to Inspector Lynton and everyone who helped make Snowy’s happy ending possible!
