Honey Badgers really don’t give a hoot!

Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe (08 September 2025) – We’ve written about it before. About the fierceness that is the honey badger. They’re fearless fighters, tough-as-nails, and they’re somewhat immune to snake venom. They’re small but that doesn’t stop them. Not at all.

Recently, guests visiting the Sable Valley in Hwange National Park enjoyed front-row seats to an unbelievable and unlikely fight between an elephant and a honey badger, and the honey badger won!

You would think that the sheer size of an elephant would disqualify a honey badger in an instant. Think again. After several boots from the angry ellie, probably over 100 times its size, the honey badger kept coming back for more. A fighting spirit that even Russell Crowe would envy.

Dust clouds in his wake, he owned the watering hole that day.

“After that nasty blow by the elephant, the badger still continued to terrorise any animal that came down for a drink,” wrote Amalinda Safari Collection, in a video shared by their guest Alan E Brown.

“This sighting left us questioning “who really is king of the jungle?”

This just goes to show how far bravery can get you. If you’re chasing dreams, facing fears, or just hanging on for dear life – take a page out of the honey badger’s book and ATTACK!
