Lesotho (14 August 2021) – Two weather systems are making their way across South Africa, bringing rain, snow and chilly weather to most parts over the weekend.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) released a report detailing the two weather systems hitting South Africa this weekend. Wayne Venter compiled the detailed report that sees rainy, cold weather from one system and snowfall from the other.
“An intense cold front was set to make landfall in the Western Cape yesterday and spread along the coastline towards the Eastern Cape and up to KwaZulu-Natal. This was the first system to hit, the second will start to develop today and move along the interior of South Africa, but the good thing is it will bring along rainfall to parts of South Africa that are considered seasonally uncommon for this time of year.”

Landlocked by South Africa and commonly known as the Mountain Kingdom, Lesotho is a country with the highest lowest point globally. Hiding away in the magnificent Maluti Mountains, you will discover the gem that is Semonkong Lodge, built on the banks of the Maletsunyane River using only local stone & thatch, offering just the right balance between civilisation and rustic elegance; a perfect base to explore this area on the iconic Basotho pony, mountain bikes or dare to take on the highest commercial abseil in the world.
