There has been so much rain in South Africa that parts of the country are flooding, rivers that were once dry are flowing again and Kruger is going to bloom beautifully.
Kruger National Park, South Africa (03 February 2021) – The rains that have been causing all kinds of havoc at the Kruger National Park, making it a little difficult for travellers but the good news is that the area is getting some much-needed rain.
There have been some incredible videos of the rivers flowing in Kruger National Park, reaching areas that have gone without water for a long time. We like to think all this rain will make the area flourish, it encourages new life and for many seasons to come, the park will be lush and beautiful.
The park has had several historic floods, while the 2021 floods are quite bad, they have not yet lived up to the floods of 2000 and 2014.
At present, the rangers and employees of the park are doing everything in their power to keep the public safe, to protect their own and to continue their conservation efforts.
Take a look at some of the images shared below, it is quite something to see the water so high.

The park has closed all gravel roads due to the rain and several low-lying bridges have been closed for now. If you are planning to travel to the park, be sure to stay updated via the SANParks social media pages.
