Licensing department

Adam used his voice to spread a few seconds of joy amongst an uptight audience queuing at the licensing department.

Johannesburg, South Africa (27 January 2026) – Last week, singer and cantor Adam Davis showed up at the wrong licensing department to collect his renewed driver’s license. On his way out, he noticed a room full of frustrated people…

To be honest, it’s a look that many of us generally don at the traffic department…especially the slow-moving ones.

“On my way out to the correct branch I noticed an ‘audience’ patiently waiting for…the show to begin? I jumped in and gave them an impromptu opera song till security stopped me!” Adam shared.

Adam is a performer; it’s what he does. Not at licensing departments packed with grumpiness, though. He says it was scary at first, but he chose to spread a bit of happiness over fear.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to spread a little joy and positivity,” Adam later shared online.

It’s not his first rodeo. Earlier this month, Adam found himself in the wrong place. Again. This time, on a flight. It wasn’t the one he was supposed to be on. To compensate for delaying everybody, he belted out ‘O Sole Mio’.

We can’t help but wonder where Adam’s next ‘wrong turn’ will lead? Happiness won’t be far behind.

This is all to say that spreading kindness doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as choosing courage over nerves and giving people a reason to smile.
