A dachshund pup has become famous after accidentally swallowing mom’s wedding ring and being whipped off to the vet to get help.

Ghian is a beautiful 6-month-old, long-haired Dachshund who lives in Cape Town with his mom. He recently got up to a bit of mischief and ate his mom’s diamond ring.

Obviously, the little pupper didn’t realise how silly it was to swallow a ring but thankfully the entire ordeal didn’t require any serious medical attention.

In movies, people usually just follow the animal around and wait for nature to take its course but Ghian was rushed to the vet because nobody knew what would happen after the ring was swallowed.

Ghian was taken to the vet and thankfully, they were able to avoid painful and expensive surgery and instead, the vet was able to remove it using an endoscope which is much less invasive, but still not too pleasant.

“Little Ghian, a 6-month-old miniature long hair dachshund, decided that he would keep his mom’s ring safe by swallowing it. Hillside Vet took some x-rays which showed the ring in the stomach. He was then sent to CAMC where Dr Tanya Schoeman performed an endoscopy and managed to take the ring out. This procedure saved Ghian from having to have surgery. He went home the same day in good spirits and his mom has her ring back now” – Cape Animal Medical Centre, CAMC

The handsome little pupper has made quite a name for himself since his incident. Much like those American models that were found after their criminal mug shots went viral, this handsome young man is turning heads with his good looks.

People can’t get over how beautiful he is, no matter how mischevious and are even cracking a few jokes about his expensive taste.

Lynette Jongeleen said, “I always thought that diamonds were a girl’s best friend but seems to be a boy’s too. Glad the little guy is ok”

Claudine Traviss concluded, “This pushes “having expensive taste” to a whole new level. I’m so glad he’s ok.”

The sweet pupper seems very sorry about the whole thing and is dazzling with his beautiful puppy eyes. Shame!
