Between the kilometres of sweat at the New York Marathon, a South African runner embraced the joy with a memorable moment at a kiss booth.

New York, USA (08 November 2025) –  Anyone who’s ever attended a marathon knows it’s not just about the running. It’s also about the energy, the laughter, and the random moments that make the kilometres memorable.

Along the New York Marathon route this past weekend, South African local Chad Nathan found himself caught up in one such moment.

As runners pushed through the city’s buzzing streets, supporters lined the sidelines with all kinds of signs. Some offered motivation, others a dose of humour. From “You trained for this, don’t stop now” to “Worst parade ever” posters. All just made to make people laugh and forget the pain for a second.

Among the funniest along the New York route was a “Kudos Booth.” A playful twist on the old-fashioned “kiss booth,” where two women offered passing runners a quick peck.

And Nathan, who was there soaking up the atmosphere, couldn’t resist joining in on the fun.

The exchange was caught on camera, quickly winning smiles across social media.

One comment hilariously read,

“They’d see me passing that block for the third time.”

Showing just how much fun that “Kudos Booth” looked. Even for those not officially running the race.
