If you are looking for a reason to smile, the Waitrose Christmas advert is celebrating love and telling someone you love them, through homemade goodness.

Global (16 November 2025) – The first festive adverts have started popping up on our devices, and we are simply excited! Every year, without fail, we find these bring us tears, laughter or serve as a reminder that the festive season is about more than maxing out one’s credit card. It’s about family, community, and maybe even finding love.

Waitrose, a grocery store in the United Kingdom, have placed a spotlight on romance this festive season. Turning to none other than Keira Nightly (we see you Love Actually fans!), we watch as she and Phil, an ordinary guy with a quiet life, fall in love.

What begins as a mutual love of cheese turns into an unexpected connection between the duo who spend the lead up to Christmas, cooking, baking cookies and watching the best Christmas movies around.

As with any RomCom, there is a splash of drama, and Phil realises he isn’t the only man in Keira’s life.

He goes the extra mile to win her over, making a family favourite recipe and a bold statement in the process.

It’s heartwarming, mushy and the best kind of advert! So if you are keen to celebrate love this Christmas, here is one for you.
