nando's

Nando’s is on top when it comes to advertising; their adverts are always a little tongue in cheek and sometimes downright to the point, but this time, they mix things up.

South Africa (25 March 2017) – In light of the racial tension that followed after the Spur incident, Nando’s have released an advert all about ‘mixing’ things up. They are opening the racial conversation by getting people talking.

There have been fake Nando’s ads in the form of posters circulating social media since the Spur incident, but they are in no way associated with the chain; some bored chop made them at home. So here is the real deal advert.

At first, you watch it and think, “Hang on, this is super racist!” but as always, Nando’s gets the laugh in the end! They have cleverly found a way to get everyone talking.

Social media has been ablaze with responses to the advert, everyone had a ‘what am I watching’ or ‘have they lost their mind’ moment before reaching the end of the video.
