1.5 million people from 60 countries took part in a global survey about various accents which led to South Africa receiving a top nomination.

 

Johannesburg, South Africa – South Africans are pretty awesome. The country is filled with a melting pot of cultures, languages and traditions. Because of these factors, we have a great mix of accents. In 2017 we shared the news that an Irish website had listed SA as the top sexiest accent, but readers weren’t convinced.

1.5 million people from 60 countries took a survey and voted for the sexiest accents in the world. The votes came in, and South Africa placed second on the list. Coming in above the famed French accent and the beautiful Irish accent. Big 7 Media share several lists which promote global travel. In the past, we have shared their lists about South Africa. We were voted the 5th most “Instagrammable” county in the world and now the 2nd sexiest accent.

Sho, South Africa is a great place to be!

“The results were determined via survey results of Big 7 Media’s 1.5 million audience, with votes cast from residents of over 60 countries worldwide.”

The accent that the vote was based on was the Afrikaans one.

“Afrikaans is a hugely popular accent with many people across the globe, thanks to their unique tones and Saffa slang.”
