Sometimes they make you cry, and sometimes they make you laugh. As long as it leaves you feeling warm and festive, a Christmas Ad has done its job!
Global (02 December 2025) – We’ve seen a few good ones already. This year, Waitrose brought us Love Actually’s one and only Keira Nightly and Phil. And John Lewis brought us a quieter, relatable story about a father who grew up in the nineties and his son.
Now, Wallace & Gromit have us giggling. And feeling nostalgic.
The ad follows two of the world’s most beloved English characters from the late ‘80s and ‘90s on Christmas.
There’s gift-giving, tartan-wrapped robots, and Wallace even loses his pants.
It’s warm, festive British humour at its best. Plus, it does actually support a meaningful cause.
To accompany the Barbour advert, the British clothing brand has released a limited-edition run of Re-loved Wallace & Gromit inspired wax jackets. All proceeds made from the sales and auction of the jackets will be going to Oxfam.
It’s a global non-profit that tackles issues like poverty, humanitarian aid, climate change, and gender equality. It operates through a worldwide confederation of 21 independent organisations, and some of that work even extends to South Africa.
When it makes you giggle and it does a good thing. That’s flippen festive.
“The Gift-o-matic is a classic Wallace invention – brilliant but with a few hiccups – and we’re delighted to share this playful, festive tale with audiences this year, in hope that the love, craft, warmth and humour bring big smiles this Christmas” shares Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit.
Psst: You can see all the Christmas adverts shared on Good Things Guy here.
