Anonymous Donation Leaves Boksburg SPCA “Blown Away”

The staff at the Boksburg SPCA were left “blown away” after discovering a generous donation of dog collars, harnesses and leashes left behind by an anonymous supporter.

Boksburg, South Africa (11 March 2026) – A quiet act of kindness has left the team at the Boksburg SPCA deeply grateful after an anonymous donor dropped off a generous surprise earlier this week.

According to the organisation, a man walked into reception carrying three large black bags, placed them down and simply walked out without leaving his name. When staff opened the bags, they were amazed by what they found inside.The donation contained a large number of dog collars, harnesses and leashes, items that will play an important role in the SPCA’s ongoing outreach work within the community.

In a post shared on social media, the organisation expressed its appreciation for the unexpected act of generosity.

“We don’t have your name but THANK YOU, THANK YOU from all of us at Boksburg SPCA for this incredibly generous donation of collars, harnesses & leashes.”

The SPCA explained that the items will go a long way in helping their outreach team, which regularly works with pet owners in communities to replace unsuitable collars and chains with more humane options.

Because of that, the donation is expected to make a real difference to the welfare of many animals.

“With our weekly outreach work our team are continually removing inappropriate collars & chains for more humane options, our outreach dogs that come in for steri, go home with a collar & leash… your donation will make a difference in the lives of many animals!”
