Cupcake Angels, get ready to sprinkle some magic and bake a difference! National Cupcake Day is happening on 27 September, and it’s your chance to be a real-life superhero, one delicious cupcake at a time.

South Africa (31 July 2025) – If you have ever had the dream or desire to say “you helped save a life”, it could be as simple (yet profound) as slipping on your apron and stepping into your kitchen to bake some scrumptious cupcakes!

Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer has announced 27 September 2025 as National Cupcake Day, and it promises to be a sweet celebration with a powerful purpose.

National Cupcake Day is the charity’s biggest fundraiser, bringing together communities, schools, and businesses across the country to support children fighting cancer. Homemade treats are exchanged for donations that support children battling cancer.

Funds raised go directly to helping families cover medical expenses, nutritional support, nappies and other essentials

“We’re calling on all our Cupcake Angels (and brand-new bakers too!) to help us bake a difference in the lives of children fighting cancer,” Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer said.

Cupcake Angels can pledge to bake 24, 48, or 96 cupcakes and deliver them to one of over 77 participating malls nationwide.

“This year’s theme is ‘Bake It Forward’, because every cupcake you bake brings hope, love, and support to a child fighting cancer.”

Your strawberry swirl confectionery or your fan-favourite moist chocolate cupcake recipe could be what gives a young warrior renewed hope in a pediatric oncology ward somewhere.

And if you’re not much of a baker, you can donate baking ingredients or packaging, visit a participating mall on the day to buy a yummy cupcake or simply make a donation online — every bit helps spread a little sweetness and support brave little fighters on their journey.

To register or donate, visit the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer website or email  bake@cupcakesofhope.org for more information.
