The most beautiful video of Cape Town has been released making us proud of South Africa and proudly South African.

A coming-together of cultures, cuisines and landscapes, there’s nowhere quite like Cape Town, a singularly beautiful city crowned by the magnificent Table Mountain National Park.

“Visiting Cape Town changed my life. A few years after that first visit, I moved to the Mother City – the only place that could scratch those perpetually itchy feet.”

“It’s tough to pinpoint exactly what makes this my favourite city on the planet. There are more restaurant options than there are days in the year to dine in them; outdoor activities cover everything from sun-worshipping to hiking, biking and braving the icy surf; colourful festivals introduce visitors to Cape Town’s celebratory lifestyle and behind it all is the magnificently beautiful flat-topped Table Mountain.” – Lucy Corne, Writer

The new video released by Expedia showcases the most beautiful parts of the city, while telling an authentic Cape Town story.

The video which was captured in incredible 4k, was taken by a passionate expat, so expect to fall in love with the mother city all over again.

“We’re kicking off 2017 with Cape Town. While our vacation travel guides are all labors of love, this production is particularly close to our hearts.”

“We sent one of our star cameramen back to his old hometown for this shoot, and when we received the footage we were blown away. Not only are the shots spectacular, he returned with three times as much footage as usual!”

“Despite our best efforts to cull shots and limit the video to the usual eight to ten-minute run time, our writer, composer and editor were so seduced by both the colors and stories of Cape Town, they decided to let this one run out to almost twenty minutes.”

“So here it is, our longest video ever.”

“We hope you’ll be as inspired by the richness and rhythms of Cape Town as we were. Enjoy!”
