It’s a clever way to donate funds towards cats who need it, and to colour that blank wall or shelf!
Pretoria, South Africa (19 September 2025) – CatsRUs, the Pretoria-based foster rescue dedicated to giving kittens and cats a second chance, has come up with a clever way to raise funds.
They’ve just released their 2025 online art catalogue, and every sale directly supports the kitties in their care. The initiative follows their recent successful art show at the Chocolat et Cafe in Pretoria East. Now, thanks to the online catalogue, supporters from anywhere in South Africa can join in.

Local artists donate their work, and instead of selling for gallery prices, the pieces are available at charity rates. Supporters get to walk away with a one-of-a-kind artwork for a fraction of what it would usually cost, while knowing their purchase is keeping bowls full and vet bills covered for cats waiting on their forever homes.
CatsRUs is not a shelter but a foster-based organisation, which means its network of volunteers take needy kittens into their own homes until forever families can be found.
Every kitten or cat is sterilised, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. An adoption package offered by the NPO helps cover these basics, while extra costs for sick or injured animals are shouldered through donations and fundraisers like this art show.
On average, they’re able to rescue and rehome around 300 kittens every year.
Beyond rehoming, the team also works to prevent overpopulation through their “Spay It Forward” programme, helping to sterilise as many cats as possible.
The online catalogue makes it easy for anyone across South Africa to get involved. All you need to do is scroll through, pick a favourite piece, and send a WhatsApp to book it using the artwork’s unique code. From there, payment and collection are arranged, and the piece is yours.
It’s first-come, first-served, so if something catches your eye, don’t wait too long.
Buyers are encouraged to add an extra donation if they can, but every single purchase already helps to rebuild, rescue, and re-home.
So if you’ve been looking for a way to brighten up a wall at home or in the office, this is your chance to do it and add a little more hope into a kitty’s world.
