A casual fan interaction captured on TikTok revealed that the international superstar has been spending time in Cape Town, bringing much delight to local fans.

Cape Town, South Africa (20 January 2026)- Cape Town had a surprise main-character moment this weekend after global pop star Dua Lipa was casually spotted out and about in the city, sending South African fans into a frenzy.

The singer was seen leaving a local restaurant in a short TikTok clip shared by user @__krissssssss, where a fan couldn’t resist asking if she had enjoyed her time there. Dua Lipa paused to reply, smiling as she said she’d had a great time and thanked the fan before heading off.

The One Kiss hitmaker was spotted by fans at Our Local on Kloof Street, where she stopped in for breakfast on Sunday morning. A manager at the restaurant, Franceska Pretorius, confirmed the visit with News24, noting that the singer appeared to be spending quiet time with her family.

Word of her visit spread quickly, with fans delighted to learn that the international hitmaker was spending time in South Africa. A verified Dua Lipa fan account on Instagram reshared the video and later posted another snap of the singer posing with a fan, further confirming that she really was soaking up the Cape Town vibes.

While no official reason for her visit has been shared, that hasn’t stopped social media from speculating. Is she on a well-deserved holiday? Taking a break between shows? Or quietly enjoying everything Cape Town has to offer without the spotlight?

Whatever the reason, fans were thrilled to see her moving through the city.
