After five unforgettable years, the Cape Town Adventure Film Festival returns 17 Oct – 1 Nov 2025 with 15 nights of world-class cinema, 20 inspiring speakers, and a carefully curated mix of local gems and international masterpieces that will move, thrill, and inspire.

Cape Town, South Africa (14 October 2025) – Cape Town’s biggest celebration of outdoor storytelling is back, and it’s gearing up to be its most unforgettable edition.

The 5th annual Cape Town Adventure Film Festival, presented by ORMS, takes over the Mother City from 17 October to 1 November 2025, promising 15 nights of pure inspiration, adrenaline, and cinematic brilliance.

Audiences can look forward to over 50 films that balance homegrown South African stories with international adventure masterpieces. It is indeed about adventure, as you can expect 20 guest speakers, a few prize giveaways, and a community of thrill seekers.

Now a cornerstone of South Africa’s outdoor and film culture, the festival has become a space where filmmakers, athletes, brands, and audiences meet to celebrate courage, creativity, and the wild spirit that defines adventure storytelling. This year, the festival aims to put Cape Town firmly on the global adventure film map.

Events will unfold across four iconic venues, namely ORMS Cape Town School of Photography, The Labia Theatre, Jack Black’s Taproom, and Ster-Kinekor V&A Waterfront.

The programme features three headlining feature films that promise breathtaking storytelling.

In Girl Climber, a gripping tale of professional climber Emily Harrington as she attempts a 24-hour ascent of Yosemite’s El Capitan, confronting both physical limits and life’s ticking clock.

In the open seas of Women and the Wind, viewers are taken on a poetic journey following three women crossing the North Atlantic on a 50-year-old catamaran, blending adventure, reflection, and discovery.

Finally, Anytime,  an Emmy Award-winning freeride mountain bike film captures fifteen world-class riders as they redefine what is possible on two wheels.

Cape Town Adventure Film Festival celebrates the explorers, creators, and dreamers who remind us that the spirit of adventure is alive and thriving right here at home.
