Hint Hunt South Africa’s Cape Town branch has been added to the coveted TripAdvisor Hall of Fame thanks to years of top reviews from customers.

Cape Town, South Africa – Hint Hunt in Cape Town has been added to the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame for receiving a Certificate of Excellence five years in a row.

The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to establishments that deliver consistent, excellent service across the world. This certificate is only presented to around 10% of the total businesses on TripAdvisor. They have to have achieved great reviews in one year. Companies cannot apply for the Certificate of Excellence; it’s an achievement which is earned over time.

“To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, an accommodation (Hotels, B&Bs / Inns, and Speciality Lodging), restaurant or experience must:

  • Maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five
  • Have a minimum number of reviews
  • Have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least twelve months. A business must be listed for the full 12-month qualifying period between April 1 to March 31 to be considered. Recipients are announced only once a year in late May.

To determine Certificate of Excellence recipients, we use a variety of user-generated content. We use an algorithm that primarily takes into account the quality, quantity, and recency of user reviews, as well as the business’ tenure on the site.”

Businesses that achieve the certification five years in a row qualify for the Hall of Fame status.

Hint Hunt South Africa was established in November 2013 and became the first Escape Room opened on the African continent. They now have three venues, two in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg.

Escape Rooms are set up to challenge people to figure out puzzles and clues to unlock a room within a certain amount of time. They are enjoyable and can be used for family entertainment or as team building for corporates. The key is always to work together, meaning people are brought closer, building stronger relationships.
