South Africa’s Deante Swart flew the flag high in Florida recently and was crowned the International Role Model Junior Teen.

Florida, United States (27 July 2021) – Deante Swart, a 14-year-old South African teen from Greytown, KwaZulu-Natal, has been flying the South African flag high in the United States. She recently competed at the Royal International Miss pageant and walked away with a top title, International Role Model Junior Teen.

On Saturday, 17 July 2021, at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Orlando, Florida, Deante was crowned as the Junior Teen Royal International Role Model winner. She was one of 63 girls represented from different states in America and different countries worldwide, including Canada, the Philippines, Italy, Spain and Jamaica, to name a few.

Her journey to winning this title started in 2019 when she was crowned Overall Mini Miss RSA 2019 and would have represented South Africa at the International Royal Miss in Orlando, Florida. The onset of the pandemic meant the pageant was postponed until 2021.

Finally, this year she had the opportunity to represent South Africa from the 11th to the 18th of July 2021 in the category of Junior Teen (14-16 years old).

When asked what her vision and goals were, she replied that her vision is to effectively make a change (BE THE CHANGE) in her community, province and nation. To build a goal-driven future where she focuses on the importance of education and early childhood education and development.

Deante acknowledges the importance of the elderly and the role they still have to play in society and hopes to raise awareness for causes such as cancer, autism awareness, violence against women and children and recycling, among others.

This goes hand in hand with her mission to work to uplift and support her community and previously disadvantage children.

Remember Deante; she hopes to become an international representative of South Africa on the global stage.
