This year the Santa Shoebox Project reached 100% pledges and 96% have already been dropped off at the collection centres around South Africa.

South Africa (12 November 2021) – The Santa Shoebox Project was started in 2006 as a way for people to provide gifts to children who often go without during the festive season. The first roll-out saw just 180 gift boxes distributed to children in need. In 2020, that number crossed the 1 million mark.

The charity has touched the lives of over 1 017 741 underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia to date and that number is about to grow!

Registration for 2021 pledges opened on the 1st of September 2021 and all the drop-offs have been taking place over the week. 96% of the pledges have been handed over so far and with a few more to go, it is set to be a very merry Christmas for the children of South Africa.

All the boxes are double checked and added to if needed and then put aside to be delivered to the excited and deserving child.

This year, the children are in for a real treat. It has been a hard year and the gifts will bring so much joy. If you missed you chance to pledge this year, don’t worry, it is never too late to start prepping for next year!
