When the Stellenbosch University Choir sings, the world stops to listen, and their performance of Both Sides Now proves once again why they remain one of the finest choirs.

Stellenbosch, South Africa (26 November 2025) – There are few things more moving than when the Stellenbosch University Choir begins to sing. It’s the kind of sound that stops you in awe. The layered harmonies and gentle. Their rendition of Both Sides Now has once again captured hearts, reminding us why this choir remains one of South Africa’s most remarkable musical groups. The song, famously featured in the Christmas movie Love Actually, arrives just in time for the holiday season. And with Christmas around the corner, it couldn’t feel more fitting.

As one online comment beautifully put it.

“Every year as students graduate and leave uni and the choir and new students join the choir, Stellenbosch University Choir still manages to be one of the best in the world. Amazing sound, well done to André van der Merwe and all the choir members past and present. From the a very happy UK subscriber.”

And it’s true, year after year, the Stellenbosch University Choir brings together new voices and still manages to deliver performances that feel like they’re woven from the same golden thread.

Earlier this year, they proved once again why they’re considered one of the finest choirs internationally. The Stellenbosch University Choir proudly brought home three gold medals at the INTERKULTUR European Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations 2025 in Aarhus, Denmark.

Their latest performance of Both Sides Now feels like a reflection of exactly that journey. Stage around the world welcome them once more, the choir continues to carry the South African flag with breathtaking harmony.

It could be global competitions or Christmas classics when the Stellenbosch University Choir sings, the world listens.
