Tangible Africa empowers children, regardless of their unique abilities, with coding concepts through fun and engaging games which develop essential digital skills while fostering a love for learning.
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (26 September 2024) – Tangible Africa introduces children to coding concepts through fun and educational games that are simple to understand and entertaining to play.
Their multi-stage mobile platform is purposefully designed to facilitate group problem-solving and promote digital competency.
A KwaZulu-Natal technology educator at Naidoo Memorial Primary situated in Umkomaas, Karen Pillay, was introduced to the unique educational initiative in July when her school hosted the Coding for Mandela Tournament.
With a growing interest in coding from neighbouring schools, more recently, Pillay discovered how enriching coding was for autistic children.
Through Tangible’s Rangers game, the children were introduced to intermediate coding skills and educated about the importance of animal conservation and the consequences of poaching.
“These children possessed a keen focus and deep interest in coding. Furthermore, I was greatly impressed as they displayed exceptional skills in unplugged coding. My observations were also that unplugged coding provided opportunities for the children to work collaboratively and develop interpersonal skills.
“Introducing coding to children with autism is indeed beneficial as we strive to break down barriers and pave the way for a future where coding becomes an inclusive and transformative experience for all children, including those with unique abilities,” Pillay shared.
The learning platform is paving the way for a future where coding is accessible and transformative for everyone, regardless of their unique abilities!
