Cohnwille Swarts poured his heart and soul into his final artworks, blowing his teacher away with his talents and being hailed a true artist!

Malmesbury, South Africa (13 November 2020) – Celeste Arendse has been a visual arts teacher for 20 years and never seen a talent so pure. Her pupil, Cohnwille Swarts at the Schoonspruit Secondary School in Malmesbury has a talent like no other!

The Grade 12 learners were all given the task to do an exhibit as their finals and use the theme ‘Poverty’ for their work. Celeste was blown away when she saw Cohnwille’s exhibition.

Cohnwille lost his mother during the lockdown, a loss that shifted his whole being. He threw himself into his artwork and as his teacher said, “he gives his utmost best”.

“I can no longer contain my excitement about these artworks (Poverty as the theme) of one of my Gr12 learners. I am so proud!!! This boy lost his mother during Lockdown and still, he gives his utmost best… This is why I do what I do… because of kids like him. Cohnwille Swarts juffrou is so trots op jou!”

She shared his artworks on Facebook and the post went viral. There is no guessing as to why; his work is just so beautiful. Take a look at the pictures below and remember the name Cohnwille Swarts because one day soon, he will be a celebrated artist around the world!
