By sharing food and laughter, the One Small Act Of Kindness team created a safe space where the less fortunate felt valued and cared for.
Johannesburg, South Africa (20 August 2024) – The One Small Act Of Kindness team demonstrated sheer compassion and care for the homeless community by treating them to mouthwatering burgers at a shelter.
The burger night was not only a success but also saw the unexpected coming together of unlikely friends where new volunteers came on board to lend a helping hand to a worthy cause.
Truly living up to its name, the charity’s initiative saw an unexpected outpouring of support from volunteers who showcased the power of compassion and the ability of a simple act to unite a community.
“It wasn’t just about a burger but also about lessons on how to share and make sure not to take too much for everyone to get.
“Volunteers, the team and guys from the shelter shared a meal and just chatted. We had laughter and our children running around and just giving a family night environment,” a post from the charity organisation reads.
Sure, lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumber, fried onions, mushrooms, and chips were on the menu but the burger night not only filled hungry bellies but also left those in attendance with a wholesome experience and lasting memories.
What a heartwarming reminder that everyone deserves kindness, regardless of their circumstances!
