Card

The Camps Bay Primary and High Schools have joined forces to send donations to UCT students, the SPCA and Firefighters on the frontline; they even sent a card from the Grade 2s.

Camps Bay, South Africa (22 April 2021) – The Camps Bay Primary School Grade 2NS class decided to make a card for the firefighters fighting the Cape Fire to thank them for their hard work. The class drew pictures and wrote thank you notes which were compiled into a booklet and delivered to the Sea Point Fire Department.

Not only did the Grade 2NS class get involved, but the whole of Camps Bay Primary and High School joined forces this week to assist various organisations and individuals affected by the fires on Table Mountain and at UCT.

The two schools filled three bakkies with goods that have been distributed to those in need.

The schools collected toiletries, food, clothing and other miscellaneous items for the UCT SRC, which is currently based at the UCT Graduate School of Business and have delivered items to the grateful SRC reps over the past two days. Many of the students left on Sunday with only the clothes on their back and are still in need of various items, including toiletries, underwear, stationery, linen and clothing.

In addition, the schools collected bandages, medication, dressings and food for the wild animals affected by the fire currently in the care of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA. These items were delivered to the Wildlife Unit of the SPCA at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA in Grassy Park.

The schools also donated sandwiches, energy drinks, energy bars, eye drops and headache tablets to the Fire Department, which were delivered to the Fire Department in Sea Point on Monday and Tuesday.
