After several days without access to clean water, the community of Aurora in the Bergrivier Municipality received much-needed relief from Gift of the Givers.

Aurora, South Africa (11 November 2025) – Known for their tireless humanitarian work, Gift of the Givers continues to respond swiftly to communities in need. This time, delivering clean drinking water to residents of Aurora in the Bergrivier Municipality.

Residents of Aurora in the Bergrivier Municipality were left without access to clean, drinking water for more than five days, sparking growing concern in the community.

Unfortunately, many communities across South Africa continue to face similar water shortages, often going days (or weeks) without clean water.

Gift of the Givers responded to the call for help, delivering 5-litre bottles of clean water to residents.

The organisation said its team acted quickly to address the situation, describing it as a humanitarian crisis that required urgent intervention.

“The delivery of clean drinking water was greatly appreciated, especially amongst elderly residents.”

Gift of the Givers continues to run various humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable and marginalised communities across the country. Their ongoing efforts focus on providing basic needs, disaster relief, and long-term community support where it’s needed most.
