Flights, accommodation and even meals have been arranged after finding out that this granny had been saving her pension all year to get to her granddaughter’s graduation!

Inge Beukes called her grandmother to tell her about completing her degree and learned that her granny had been saving the entire year to attend the graduation.

Beukes Tweeted her gran’s reaction to her completing her degree but she never imagined that South African companies would turn the sweet moment into something incredible.

Never in her wildest dreams, did Inge think that something this amazing would happen. She had Tweeted:

“Called my gran to tell her I got my degree and she burst out in tears. Turns out she’s been using her pension for the past few months to save up for a flight ticket to Gauteng for my graduation.  If that’s not love, then I don’t know what is.”

People were deeply moved by the Tweet. It was then that things started taking an amazing turn. Kulula responded to her saying they would give gran a ticket to fly to Johannesburg for the graduation ceremony.

Protea Hotels got wind of the Tweet too and offered gran accommodation and a celebratory dinner for the pair.

Nandos also came on board to offer them a lovely meal and granny will be gifted a new cellphone. They will also be getting makeovers for the big day thanks to L’Oréal South Africa. Gautrain has offered to transport granny around so she can see a bit of Johannesburg while on her trip.

South Africans are inspiring and it is very heartwarming to see these companies come together to help out a granny who wants to see her granddaughter graduate.
