Actress, dancer, pianist and singer, the talented Serena Steinhauer can do it all and she has been recognised for it; graduating top of her class from Berklee College.
South Africa (14 March 2023) – South Africa has an incredibly talented pool of actors, singers, musicians, artists, creatives and so much more. Many dream of the opportunity to go to the world’s most prestigious art schools. For 22-year-old Serena Steinhauer, not even the pandemic could stop her from achieving her dream. The talented star-to-be has graduated top of her class from Berklee College of Music, doing her entire degree remotely, here in South Africa.
Serena found her passion for the arts at the tender age of eight and made it her life’s mission to pursue them. She has worked at becoming a multi-talented artist, focussing on piano, dance, singing and acting.
She matriculated in 2018 and spent much of her time thereafter, working her way to an acceptance at an international university. Through a series of rigorous auditions, she was accepted to the number one Contemporary Music school in The United States: Berklee College of Music. Her dreams were about to fly high, but then the pandemic and global lockdown brought her dream to a standstill.
The prestigious school welcomed online classes once the panic of the pandemic had settled and Serena quickly signed up so she could start her studies. Working on American time, she would wake up for classes starting at 1 am sharp and spend her early hours focusing on the online curriculum.
For three years, Serena has dedicated her time to this method of study and it has paid off. She has earned “an almost perfect A grade report card from this top US university”. In May of 2023, Serena will graduate with her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Music Studies Summa Cum Laude, from Berklee College of Music.
But the dream doesn’t end there. She has wanted to get State-side for the last three years to pursue her dream of being a multi-talented artist. Wanting to further her studies, she applied for her Master’s and was accepted to the prestigious Actor’s Studio Drama School at PACE University in New York City for a Master’s of Fine Arts in Acting.
Serena will finally have the chance to study the arts in the USA. She is looking forward to her next step and is filled with hope. Remember the name Serena Steinhauer, we may be celebrating her achievements again someday soon!
