Lovemore has been helping Sean Williams to clean up the suburbs of Fourways and Lonehill and as a reward, he got taken on holiday to see the sea!
Johannesburg, South Africa (29 September 2020) – Sean Williams and his trusty sidekick Lovemore have been working hard to clean up the Fourways and Lonehill areas in the North of Johannesburg. The pair, armed with tools and bags, clear areas of litter and weeds.
For some time they have been inspiring the community of Fourways with their story but it is the latest story that has brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
During their hours of backbreaking work, Sean learned that Lovemore had never seen the sea. So over this past weekend, instead of going to clean up the streets of Fourways, Sean took Lovemore to see the sea!
“Lovemore has NEVER seen the sea or swam in the ocean, so we took a break from our cleanups and building and we brought him to the Sea… Never, have I seen a person, so happy with seeing and feeling, such simple things.” – Sean Williams
Lovemore joined Sean and his family on their holiday to Scottborough and loved every moment of it. He got to swim in the ocean for the first time and he held a crocodile for the first time too.
“FIRSTLY he loves our children, like his own.
He had never seen the sea or swam in the sea. He couldn’t understand the noise waves make.
He has never seen sand or been on a beach
He has never seen crocodiles live
He has never see whales, which we saw so many humpback Whales, which was incredible
He had never experienced change in attitude, where your ears pop
He had never gone to a gym and run on a treadmill, which I had to teach him how to use it and the weights
He has never had a sirloin steak
He has never been to a Beer Garden
WHAT A WEEKEND IT WAS FOR LOVEMORE”
The guys are back in Joburg now and preparing for their next big clean up so if you are in the North and want to lend a helping hand, you can join them tomorrow (30 September 2020).
“Myself and Lovemore, will clean up this intersection of Lonehill Boulevard and William Nicol, TOMORROW at 3 pm. It shouldn’t take more than 1 hour, but it is a cleanup. Meeting point will be Leaping frog outside Humble Harry’s. Hope some can make it and if not, then next week, when the weather is better?”
If you want to keep up to date with when to join the next clean up, Sean regularly posts on the I Love Fourways community group which you can join here.
