A rubbish dump dug out a new hole but before it could be used, they noticed a dog had fallen in – an SPCA man braved the deep pit to save the dog & he is a hero!
SPCA inspectors are incredible humans. They face unimaginable cases of abuse, neglect and horror on a daily basis. We take our hats off to every single person that works to improve the quality of life for abused animals.
One SPCA inspector has been making people smile from ear to ear after he braved an incredibly deep hole to save a stranded dog. The SPCA Randburg shared the video on their Facebook page and it has inspired thousands of animal lovers.
At an unknown location somewhere in Johannesburg, a dog accidentally wandered into a newly dug out landfill. The pit was incredibly deep and destined to be filled with trash collected from the surrounding municipalities. Thankfully the landowners spotted the trapped dog and called their local SPCA for assistance.
Two inspectors were sent out to the site to offer assistance. One of them had to brave being lowered into the landfill by a digger while the other man filmed the entire thing. Just watching the video gave us jelly legs, that inspector climbed into the digger, saved the dog and got lifted back up to the level ground.
It will definitely be a story to tell the grandkids one day.
The SPCA Randburg has since confirmed that the dog is fine and he might even have found a forever home.
“We are pleased to let everyone know a family is interested in him and has started the process of adoption.”
