Black Coffee dedicated the Grammy to all African kids “who come from where he comes from, and may think they don’t stand a chance to get on a global stage like this. It is possible!”

 

Global (04 April 2022) – DJ Black Coffee has just won his first Grammy Award, and South Africa is beaming with pride!

46-year-old Nkosinathi Innocent Sizwe Maphumulo is a South African DJ, record producer and songwriter better known as Black Coffee. He established his own record label, Soulistic Music and released his debut self-titled album Black Coffee (2005), which incorporated elements of R&B and jazz.

He has won many accolades throughout his musical career, including 6 SAMAs, 1 DJ Award, and now a Grammy award.

Black Coffee dedicated the Grammy to all African kids “who come from where he comes from, and may think they don’t stand a chance to get on a global stage like this. It is possible!”
