A viral video of two “trolley collectors” singing their hearts out has reminded Mzansi just how powerful music can be.

South Africa (07 July 2025) – It’s the kind of video that stops you mid-scroll. Two Shoprite trolley collectors, standing in their uniforms, have taken South Africa on an emotional journey with nothing more than their voices.

A recent clip of the pair singing an a cappella rendition of Jim Reeves’ classic country hymn “This World Is Not My Home” has gone viral, racking up over a million views across platforms and leaving listeners across the country reaching for tissues… and the replay button.

And it’s not just the song choice. It’s the harmonies. The heart. The unexpected beauty found in such a simple, raw moment.

“Wow, these guys should be on a stage! Beautiful. Keep singing guys,” one comment reads.

“Stunning harmonies! Africans are made of music and talent everywhere! Beautiful guys!” wrote another.

Social media lit up with people sharing the video, tagging friends and family, and reflecting on how joy, art and talent often show up in the places we least expect.

“Oh wowwwwwwww, beautiful voices,” a fan gushed. “Can somebody in the music industry please please listen to this. God given talent.”

And they’re right. These men, whose names we don’t yet know, remind us of something powerful… how music, especially when delivered from the heart, has the ability to bring people together, even for just a few minutes. It softens the noise, silences division and reminds us how much good still exists in ordinary places.

While not much is known about the two singers (yet), the internet is doing its thing, and we’ve reached out to Shoprite in the hopes of learning more about their story… because the world needs to know who they are.

For now, though, the song speaks for itself. And maybe that’s the point.
