Queens, here is your gentle reminder to put yourself first every now and then! SA’s Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi shared a heartfelt message dedicated to the women of her nation, encouraging them to show themselves the grace and love they so freely give to others.

South Africa (13 August 2025) – This one is for the gorgeous girls, and yes, I mean you!

In honour of all the amazing qualities that make women the special beings that they are, former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi, took to her social media to dedicate a heartfelt message to the incredible women of our nation, reminding them to give themselves grace.

After attending a Women’s Day event celebrating empowerment, storytelling, the arts, and womanhood in Bloemfontein, Zozibini was left with a thought so profound, she just had to share it.

“Today and going forward, I hope that you show yourself a little grace. For alll of us, it’s our the first time on earth. We don’t know what we’re doing. We wake up and we try every day. We try our hardest, especially women.”

She emphasised that it’s natural for women to dedicate themselves to caring for others, often to the point of neglecting their own needs.

“We’re so big on showing up for other people and pouring and constantly pouring into other people that we sometimes forget ourselves and neglect ourselves a little,” she said.

Zozi encouraged women to prioritise their own well-being, to be a little selfish and to fill themselves with the love and grace they so easily pour into others.

“I hope that becomes a recurring theme in your life to not be so hard on yourself. We’re all figuring it out. You will probably never fully figure it out, but that’s just life.”

Her post garnered over 21K views on Instagram, proving that her message struck a chord with women everywhere.

So there you have it, queen, it’s okay to choose yourself and embrace the process of learning and unlearning.
