Luvo Manyonga has just earned South Africa the tenth gold medal of the Commonwealth Games and his teammate Ruswahl Samaai got us the bronze.
South Africa is currently sitting pretty at 4th on the Medals Table thanks to Luvo Manyonga’s gold medal win. Today has been yet another epic day of medal wins.

But back to the long jump news…
Luvo won the gold during the long jump final and recorded a new games record of 8.41 metres. Luvo was one of two South Africans on the podium. He was joined by Ruswahl Samaai who picked up a bronze medal in the same event with a jump of 8.22 metres.
Luvo overcame a drug addiction to become the world champion he is today. His dedication is inspiring! Well done Luvo and Ruswahl.
