Proteas Women react with pure joy after making history, reaching their first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final following a stellar team performance against England.

Guwahati, India (30 October 2025) – After years of hard work and near misses, the Proteas Women have secured their place in a historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final. Emotions ran high as the team reflected on the journey, the leadership that guided them, and the unity that made this moment possible.

South African cricket fans have every reason to celebrate. Following a commanding win over England in Guwahati, the Proteas Women are set to compete in their very first ICC Women’s World Cup final. The team’s joy and disbelief were clear as they soaked in what they had achieved, sharing moments of relief and pride.

Laura Wolvaardt starred with a brilliant 169, while Marizanne Kapp tore through the English batting lineup with a career-best five-wicket haul. But beyond the stats and records, it was the players’ reactions that captured the heart of the nation in a video shared on the Proteas Women’s social media pages.

Looking ahead to the final, Chloé Tryon described the team’s focus as there’s “one more game” to go. While captain Laura Wolvaardt was still soaking it in.

“It doesn’t feel real”

The reactions were a reflection of the journey. Players and coaches acknowledged the hours of preparation, the sacrifices made, and the belief that underpinned every match.

From the opening overs to the final wickets, they showed what it means to rise to the occasion.

With the final against the winner of India and Australia looming on 2 November, the team now carries the hopes of a nation.
