Cape Town is the Beyoncé of the World Travel Award Nominations in 2023, with other South African landmarks shining alongside her!

 

South Africa (28 April, 2023)— The World Travel Awards are like the Grammys of tourism and Cape Town is giving nothing short of Beyoncé energy after being nominated for multiple awards in different categories. Still, other proudly South African landmarks and attractions are also sharing the spotlight, and we’re rooting for all of them.

This year marks the 30th annual run of the World Travel Awards where South African flair, natural beauty and creativity have earned various nominations.

Cape Town for one has been nominated across 9 different categories, solidifying its hold as ‘the world within the world.’ Coming in hot, other South African tourism firecrackers are also in the running, from Johannesburg as a leading Business Travel Destination to the Harties Cableway as a leading tourist attraction.

Capetonians, South Africans, expats and anyone who’s fallen in love with the Mzansi can vote to make sure South Africa brings home the gold, with voting still open.

And the Nominees Are In!

  • Africa’s Leading Airport (Cape Town International, King Shaka International and O.R Tambo)
  • Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction (Hartebeesport Aerial Cableway, Robben Island, Table Mountain and the V&A)
  • Africa’s Leading Cruise Port (Port of Cape Town, Port of Durban)
  • Africa’s Leading Beach Destination (Cape Town and Plettenberg Bay)
  • Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination (Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg)
  • Africa’s Leading City Destination (Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg)
  • Africa’s Leading Destination (South Africa)
  • Africa’s Leading Festival & Event Destination (Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg)
  • Africa’s Leading Meeting& Conference Destination (Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg)
  • Africa’s Leading National Park (Kruger National Park)
  • Safari (Shamwari Private Game Reserve)

Plus:

  • Africa’s Leading Hotels saw various South African nominations for suites, airport hotels, business hotels, city hotels, luxury resorts and most romantic resorts.
  • And, Baobab Ridge, Cheetah Plains and Morukuru Beach Lodge snatched nominations for Africa’s Leading Green Hotel!
