If you don’t have a full wallet to give back to animals in need, your crowded waste bin can come to the rescue thanks to a recycling vending machine that gives more than it takes.

Johannesburg, South Africa (11 June, 2023)—In a big nod to there always being something you can do to help those in need, recycling is playing a leading role! Recently, the Johannesburg SPCA shared exciting news about how an awesome recycling vending machine will help people make contributions to its teams without having to scratch for coins.

Trash Continues to Prevail as Treasure

The Jozi SPCA is the first SPCA that’s using the Imagined Earth Reverse Vending Machine and it outshines other snack-filled vending machines by far.

How The Recycling Vending Machine Helps the Johannesburg SPCA

Once you’ve got the recyclable goods ready (take away coffee cups, glass, tins, plastic or tetra pak) you can deposit them into the vending machine where your ‘trash’ will turn to treasure as you’re rewarded for the collection!

Step 1

  • Enter your recycling items in the machine

Step 2

  • Enter the JSPCA number (083 966 1507)

Step 3

  • Donated your recycled goods funds towards JSPCA

Step 4

  • Funds will go into the JSPCA portal to be used for fuel funding for our Inspectors’ vehicles.

Visit a Vending Machine at:

  • Shell Turf Club Motors
  • Southgate Food Court
  • Shell Winchester

  • Woolworths Bassonia
  • Shell Mulbarton
  • or any Imagined Earth RVM countrywide.

Meanwhile, in other awesome alternative vending machine news, these free vending machines are distributing menstrual products to women in need, an initiative that’s helping communities kick period poverty to the curb.
