It’s big, it’s bold, it’s beautifully branded… and it’s about to do a whole lot of good! Meet the Good Things Ranger, an exciting new partnership between Ford South Africa and Good Things Guy that’s putting kindness in the driver’s seat.
South Africa (27 October 2026) – A new vehicle is hitting South Africa’s roads… and it has a very special mission! Ford South Africa and Good Things Guy have officially launched the “Good Things Ranger”, a vehicle dedicated to helping charities, supporting communities, doing some good things and making a difference wherever it goes. And the first 3 missions are already lined up!
After months of meetings, planning and preparation, the Good Things Ranger is finally here! Ford South Africa has partnered with Good Things Guy to create a vehicle for good that will travel across South Africa, supporting charities and organisations already doing extraordinary things. And along the way, we’ll get to tell their stories, celebrate their work and show how a little extra help can make a massive difference.
The idea is simple. Give incredible organisations access to a vehicle that can help them do what they do best… help people!
And we’re wasting no time getting started.
The Good Things Ranger’s first stop will be at a school near Ford’s headquarters, where the vehicle will kick off its journey by making a difference in the lives of young South Africans.
From there, the Ranger will be handed over to the Winnie Mabaso Foundation, supporting adventurer Jason Vanporppal as he travels across South Africa delivering Christmas presents to children in need. Jason, who previously captured hearts with his epic skateboard journey from Uganda to Cape Town, is returning to revisit communities that welcomed him and spread a little festive magic along the way.
For the Winnie Mabaso Foundation, this marks an exciting milestone as its Christmas outreach extends beyond Gauteng for the first time in 22 years.
“We are enormously grateful to The Good Things Guy for partnering with us for our Christmas Roadshow in November! Thank you to them and to Ford for enabling us to travel in their stunning new vehicle, which is going to make such a difference to NPOs in South Africa. Having the opportunity to distribute Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in the areas that supported Jason Vanporppal on his skate across Africa earlier this year means the world to him and to us! We can’t wait to get started!!” – Winnie Mabaso Foundation
The third stop will see the Good Things Ranger handed over to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), where it will support lifeguarding teams during the busy December holiday season, helping them transport equipment, prepare for operations and keep South Africans safe at beaches and pools.
“Our plan would be to put the Ranger to good use with our lifeguarding team, supporting their preparations and operations during the busy December lifeguarding season. I think there’s a fantastic story to tell around the work that goes into keeping South Africans safe at our beaches and pools over the holidays.” – NSRI
But the Good Things Ranger isn’t just visiting charities for a photograph… it’s becoming part of their work, providing practical support where it’s needed most.
“Doing good things is what sets this partnership apart. The very best of Ford will enable the very best of the Good Things Guy. Together we quite literally deliver on the last mile of help.” – Ford

For Good Things Guy founder Brent Lindeque, the initiative is about turning more than a decade of sharing good news into something even bigger.
“For over a decade, we’ve been telling the stories of South Africans doing incredible things. I’ve always believed that good news should inspire more good news. This partnership allows us to take that one step further. We’re not just sharing these stories anymore… we’re getting involved! We’re giving organisations a little extra help, celebrating the people behind the good and hopefully inspiring more South Africans to do the same. I cannot wait to see where this Ranger takes us!”
Good Things Guy will follow the vehicle’s journey, sharing the stories of the charities and people it supports and the impact it makes along the way. The first three missions will round off 2026 with plenty of heart, before the Good Things Ranger takes on even more adventures in 2027.
South Africa is filled with incredible people doing incredible things, often with limited resources and enormous hearts. Now, thanks to Ford South Africa, there’s a “Good Things Ranger” ready to help them go even further.
Buckle up, South Africa… we’re going places and we’re taking the good with us!
